Dominion Decks uses USP Structural Connectors for the safest and strongest structure. With the changes to the chemicals used to treat pressure treated lumber, USP Structural Connectors meet new industry practices and products. The newer chemicals used in some treated wood products increases the chance of corrosion to metal connectors, including anchors and fasteners. The rate of corrosion is due to numerous physical and environmental factors. As a result, the life of metal connectors, including anchors and fasteners, is unpredictable when used in environments where corrosion could result. For minimum corrosion protection consumers should use Triple Zinc G185 connectors in all outdoor applications and with treated lumber.

The difference between USP's standard G60 products and Triple Zinc G185 Connectors is the zinc coating. G60 products are made from hot dipped galvanized steel having a minimum of 0.60 oz. per square foot of zinc coating. Triple Zinc G185 products are made from hot dipped galvanized steel coated with three times the G60 amount of zinc, offering enhanced protection from corrosion. Of course, stainless steel offers the highest level of protection and Dominion Decks also offers this as a choice for your projects.
